delirium: many factors - one approach
Hamburg, Germany, 12 - 14 NOVEMBER 2025
What we do, What You can DoDelirium is a common and potentially serious medical condition that can affect the elderly, the frail, the sick, the cognitively impaired - but more generally: everyone - given "stressing" events.
These may include - among others - infections, operations, change in or withdrawal from medication, sensory deprivation or even simply removal from one's familiar environment such as hospitalization. Delirium is a state of acute confusion.

American Delirium Society Webinar - Delphi algorithms for management of delirium and acute encephalopathyThe American Delirium Society (ADS) will host a free webinar on Friday, February 21, at 17:00 (time zone: Amsterdam/CET).
In this webinar, Dr. Thomas Ottens (The Hague, Netherlands) will review the recently published Delphi Algorithms for Management of Delirium and Acute Encephalopathy. This set of clinical practice algorithms were developed by an international expert consensus panel, many of which are EDA members. The algorithms are intended to assist healthcare providers to implement evidence-based and well structured delirium care during hospitalization. Dr. Ottens will discuss how the initiative for this project emerged, how the algorithms were developed and how they can be implemented in clinical practice. After the webinar, former ADS president Christine Waszynski, DNP, will host a live Q&A session.
